Our Founder
From the big city to the heart of oregon
David Dacosta
Founder
David has been in the theatre world for over two decades. With roots in Boston as a performer, teacher and director, his background spans the entire array of theatre experience.
After spending 13 years in Boston, David and his wife Mallory decided it was time to give back. They wanted a place to develop for their children and for the greater community. So they started TMP with Thoroughly Modern Productions with the goal of exposing their children to the world of theatre, and to reach out to the aspiring and experienced performers alike in Central Oregon. .

WE ARE A Theatre THAT MAKES Meaningful productions
We have more milestones than we can list here, but the overall theme of what we’ve accomplished looks something like this.
2013
David and his wife moved the family to Central Oregon to pursue theatre locally. They wanted something they could share with the community and their children and Bend was the place to do it.
2017
As our production numbers grew, so did our students. We started hearing back from our students at this point about the other productions they had grown into and many of our students started coming back to contribute to the productions now as stage managers, directors and more.
2025
With many productions under our belt and many more to go, we are looking for future opportunities. We will be continuing to make productions, but also look forward to developing our first ever feature film, which will be produced, directed and performed all by TMP students!
